The 'Pataille Party' 6-pack

$249.00
sold out

If you know the story and wines of Sylvain Pataille then this offer needs very little intro or arm-twisting. It’s simply a no-brainer for any lover of cult French wines.

To the uninitiated, Sylvain Pataille is one of the most in-demand winemakers of Burgundy, partly for being THE great champion of the Aligoté grape, partly for the spread of his wisdom in Biodynamic farming and clean-but-natural work in the cellar, and partly for seriously raising the esteem of Pinot Noir reds from his home village of Marsannay.

This 6-pack gets you 2 bottles each of three of his younger-drinking bottles—the ones that show gloriously upon release and can be an instant party. Sure, you could age them a while and reap the benefits, but if you want to guzzle some immediate-satisfaction Burgundy from a top name, this is a terrific buy.

Orders placed this week for the ‘Pataille Party’ 6-packs will be available for pickup starting Friday, September 30th.

The ‘Pataille Party’ 6-pack $249:

Aligoté, Sylvain Pataille, 2022

50+ year-old vines of prized Aligoté Doré in two of Sylvain’s tiny plots in Marsannay. This is extravagantly fresh and matches a very appealing salinity with a juicy peach-lime note.

Bourgogne Rouge, Sylvain Pataille, 2022

Supple plum and cherry with a tantalizing cedar-graphite spiciness and a lovely mint accent. This is extremely charming even in its youth but it’s also not kidding around. This is a very smart style for a Bourgogne-level Pinot Noir.

Marsannay, Sylvain Pataille, 2022

More black fruit and brooding spice here tells us we’re in a legit village wine and that we aren’t far from the muscles of Gevrey-Chambertin. Delicious chewy tannin make this a great Pinot Noir for your table’s meat course.
