The 'Meet Joe DeCaro' 6-pack

$170.00
sold out

Here’s a tip from the pros on how to shop for wine: turn the bottle around and read the back label. If it’s an imported wine, that will tell you who brought the bottle to the USA.

If you find an importer you like, start hunting that name when you’re shopping. The trick can help immensely when you’re dizzy from staring at unfamiliar bottles in a shop.

One of the names you can trust is Joe DeCaro. Joe lives here in Atlanta and works with a handful of outstanding small wineries in Italy to get their wines to the USA. Joe is himself the product of two sets of Sicilian grandparents and caught the wine bug young. He’s now realized his dream of living part-time in Italy and spends his days in America showing off delicious gems that he’s found. These are tiny family producers that don’t make much wine, so it’s pretty special to have Joe put them right on your dinner table.

This six-pack is designed to bring you in on the fun. You’ll get two bottles each of three handmade Italian reds. Pair them with awesome Italian feasts all week:

  • Vibrant Nebbiolo from our favorite old-school Barbaresco bros, the Grasso Fratelli (and in a spectacular vintage! 2019). Try this with grilled lamb chops and porcinis.

  • A wonderfully spicy/charming little-known grape you should put on your radar called Pelaverga by Barolo house San Biagio. Delicious with braised duck agnolotti.

  • A stately Valpolicella Ripasso by Amarone experts Ca’ La Bionda. Spectacular with roasted venison and polenta.

The ‘Meet Joe DeCaro’ 6-Pack, $170

Langhe Nebbiolo, Grasso Fratelli, Piedmont, Italy, 2019 (2 bottles)

Verduno Pelaverga, San Biagio, Piedmont, Italy, 2021 (2 bottles)
