The ‘It’s Champagne Season’ 3-pack
When you’re a fan of ecstatic bubbles the honest truth is that it’s never not Champagne season. But we are just starting to enter the holiday portal and that’s a lovely excuse to put together 3 thrilling bottles for celebrating early.
These three Champagnes are imported by Skurnik Wines—the first company to really turn America on to the Grower Champagne movement a couple of decades ago. They are still the best in the game, and they keep adding gems to the lineup. In addition to the top-flight Special Club wine from the very first Grower Champagne house, Gaston-Chiquet and a spectacular, zesty Blanc de Blancs from Marc Hebrart, this pack also shows off a new young star in Marianne Gamet. She is definitely a name you need to know. Her wines are poised to be the next big thing.
Orders placed this week for the ‘It’s Champagne Season’ 3-packs will be available for pickup starting Friday, October 25th.
The ‘It’s Champagne Season’ 3-pack:
Champagne, Marc Hebrart, Blanc de Blancs Brut 1er Cru, NV
Hebrart’s style is both incredibly charming and also quite detailed. They are wines of pleasure but also highly intelligent. This 100% Chardonnay BdB is super vivacious, full of chalky minerals and high-toned fruit.
Champagne, Gamet, ‘Rive Droite’ Blanc de Noirs, NV
Marianne Gamet took over her family domaine a few years ago and has turned it into one of the new names to watch in Champagne. This Blanc de Noirs is 85% Pinot Meunier and 15% Pinot Noir and its wild, fumey edges show the influence of cult Grower Champagne icons like Selosse.
Champagne, Gaston-Chiquet, ‘Special Club’, 2015
The Special Club wines are the tête de cuvée offerings from the members of the elite Club Tresors, an association of the finest grower-producers in Champagne. These wines rival (or exceed) the quality of names like Dom, Cristal, and the other famous bottles, but they cost less than a car payment. They’re also increasingly difficult to get your hands on, so don’t sleep on this one from Chiquet.
