The 'Authentique Autumn' 6-pack

$182.00
sold out

Two wines and a cider that show off some major bright spots in the import portfolio of AuthentiqueVin, the company of our bon ami, Thomas Meunier. These bottles are perfect for early autumn porch drinking and watching the leaves change.

Thomas is from the Loire Valley but he lived for many years in Chapel Hill, NC, making him an unofficial southerner at heart. He, his American wife, and 4 children now live back in the Loire and he spends his days finding terrific wines all over France to ship in our direction.

In this pack, you’ll get two bottles of each:

Cremant de Jura, Benedicte & Stephane Tissot, ‘Indigene’, Extra Brut, Jura, NV

Stephane Tissot is counted not only among the best winemakers of the Jura, he’s considered a leading mind in French natural wine at large. His ‘Indigene’ Cremant sparkler rivals pricey cult Champagne for layers of complexity and handmade detail.

Sancerre, Gerard Fiou, ‘Terroir Silex’, Loire, 2022

The Sauvignon Blanc whites of Sancerre probably need very little intro. The Gerard Fiou Sancerres do an incredible job of matching that cherished mineral freshness we love from Sancerre with a bump of richness and silky texture. Loads of flinty Silex soil in the vineyards make this a smoky Sancerre for fall.

Cidre Poiré, Eric Bordelet, ‘Authentique’, Normandy, 2022

Even if you’re a cider skeptic, you have to try this one. A former longtime sommelier at 3-star Michelin restaurant L’Arpège, Eric Bordelet is now one of the most respected cider-makers on earth, and his pear trees—some of which are 300 years old!—are certainly the stars of his show. Mostly dry and crisp but juicy too, this cider has incredible acidity and freshness. It turns heads everywhere it goes, but it’s especially great at Thanksgiving dinner.
